Alamgir’s social media dilemma

Alamgir, a once popular actor of Dhaka film scne, is getting frustrated with Facebook. Someone has opened a fake Facebook page in his name is going on to publish statements there about religion. As a result, he has to face an embarrassing situation.

But actor Alamgir has no official page on Facebook. His only Facebook ID is in the name M.A. Alamgir. Apart from this, he has no page or account on Facebook. Those that are on Facebook are under the control of others.

Alamgir said, “I have not made any comment or statement about religion anywhere, not even on Facebook. But someone has openened a fake Facebook page in my name and is publishing various posts on it. I do not understand why or for what purpose they are doing this. I do not know what is their benefit from all this. They are just trying to hurt me.”

The National Film Award winning actor also called on those who are doing so to refrain from such heinous acts. He also urged everyone to be aware of the rumors. He said, “I urge those who are doing this to stop doing this. And for the sake of my fans and well-wishers, including the countrymen, I am saying that I do not have a Facebook page. Be aware of the comments on that fake page.”

Actor Alamgir is one of the best actors in the country. He is also a hero, producer and director. He started his career on June 24, 1972 with the film 'Amar Jonmobhumi’ under the direction of the late eminent film director Alamgir Kumkum. So far he has acted in more than 225 movies. And he made his debut as a producer through the movie 'Jhumka'. Then he made his directorial debut in 1986 through ‘Nishpap’. Lastly, he directed the film ‘Ekti Cinemar Golpo’.
