The ruling Awami League is now active to reorganize the party by uniting its leaders and activists from the central to the grassroots level.

The party is also holding various programmes to cash in on the positive results of all the development activities done under the leadership of party chief and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Besides, the party is now serious about escalating the fight against anti-liberation forces and other vested groups, which are hatching conspiracies, spreading false propaganda and rumours at home and abroad.

According to sources, as part of the programmes of reorganizing the party from the central to the grassroots level, Awami League is now serious about bringing the party’s dedicated, honest and popular leaders in the limelight and  on the front line.

It is also serious to indentify the intruders, corrupt and beneficiary groups so that they could no more get any post in the party as well as nominations in any election.

In this regard, being divided into eight groups, central leaders from Awami League and its different associate bodies are now conducting field tours in eight divisions in the country.

According to sources, the Awami League held a three-day long meeting from Thursday to Saturday of the party’s ‘Parliamentary and Local Government Representatives’ Nomination Board.

At the meeting, the party finalised nominations to its leaders for the elections to upazilas and union parishads under Rajshahi, Khulna and Barisal divisions and also five districts under Dhaka division.

Chaired by party president Sheikh Hasina, also the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, the meeting was held at the PM’s official residence Ganobhaban. At the meeting it was decided that the party would no more nominate any leader, who is not dedicated, sincere and honest.

Besides, party chief Sheikh Hasina also strictly directed that beneficiaries and intruders would no more be given any party post or nomination in any election.

These decisions have been made so that the original party men are no longer  deprived.

As per the directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader on Thursday also asked the party leaders not to send names of any leaders by taking any illegal facilities from the grassroots level.

Besides, Awami League is now working at the grassroots level to make the people aware of various development activities of the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who has been working relentlessly for  the welfare of the people and  the country as well.

On the other hand, the Awami League is now seriously determined to fight against conspiracies at home and abroad. In this regard, the party is now busy forming  a platform comprising around one lakh activists to check false propaganda and rumours on line.

Abdus Sabur, Science and Technology Affairs Secretary of the Awami League, said that the party’s central sub-committee on Science and Technology already had started its activities.

As part of it, with help of the Centre for Research and Information, the-subcommittee held a workshop on ‘Publicity Policy on Social Media.’

Sabur said that anti-government rumours and propaganda by the vested quarters might be increased centring the upcoming parliament election.

‘In particular, anti-government and anti-liberation forces are trying to disrupt the government’s development activities by misleading the people through rumour and propaganda on social media. We have to be more vigilant against the rumours and propaganda in coming days,’ he said.
