AL to hold int’l confce on 4IR on Nov 4-5

Awami League (AL) is set to hold a two-day long ‘International Conference’ on ‘Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR)’ on November 4-5 at Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) Auditorium in capital Dhaka.

The Science and Technology Affairs Sub-Committee of the ruling party will organize the conference titled ‘Journey Towards Building Smart Bangladesh and Delta Plan Implementation’ that will start on Friday.

AL General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader will inaugurate the conference.

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak will present a keynote paper in the first session, AL Science and Technology Affairs Secretary and Science and Technology Affairs Sub-Committee Member Secretary Engineer Abdus Sabur said at a press conference held at the AL President's Political Office in city's Dhanmondi area.

He said Bangabandhu Chair of AIT in Thailand Professor Dr Joysree Ray will present the second keynote paper in the second session.

On the day second, he said, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Satya Prasad Majumder will present a keynote paper in the first session while IEB’s first Bengali President Dr Saifur Rahman will present the fourth keynote paper.

Awami League Presidium member Matia Chowdhury will be present at the closing ceremony as the chief guest while Posts and Telecommunication Minister Mustafa Jabbar as the special guest.

AL Advisory Council member and Science and Technology Affairs Sub-Committee Chairman Professor Dr Md Hossain Mansur and sub-committee members Engineer Nuruzzaman, Khondaker Tareq Raihan, Johir Sikder and Eskender Mirza Shamim, among others, were present at the press conference.

Sabur said a total of 250 research papers will be presented at the conference.

He said scientists, engineers, educationalists, researchers and students will take part in the conference and express their opinions on 4IR.
