The Akhaura-Agartala rail link may start functioning from next year, a federal Indian Minister has said. This was stated by Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Jitendra Singh in Delhi on Monday evening after a meeting with Chief Minister of Tripura Biplab Kumar Deb.
Singh and Deb discussed a wide range of issues related to the development projects in Tripura, an official statement said.
Singh informed Deb about the progress of the construction of rail-track for the first-ever train to Bangladesh in India’s north east which will take off from the Agartala.
