Ajay Kumar Chakraborty, additional secretary, has been appointed as the chairman of Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB).
Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification on December 27 in this regard.
Ajay Kumar Chakraborty joined Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board as chairman and paid tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at Dhanmondi 32.
Later, Ajoy Kumar Chakraborty placed wreath at the mazar of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Tungipara of Gopalganj district.
He started his career in Public Works Department as assistant engineer in public works cadre in 1995 through 15th BCS. While working in Public Works Department, he served in Khulna, BPATC, Cox's Bazar, Tangail, Rajshahi and Dhaka.
He joined in the Ministry of Public Administration after being promoted to the rank of Deputy Secretary in 2012. Later, he was promoted to the post of Joint Secretary in 2019 and to the post of Additional Secretary to the Government in 2023.
