Students of the Bangladesh Studies and political journalism (department of Law and MMC) of American International University Bangladesh (AIUB) were taken on a study tour to the parliament on 20 June as a part of their course work. The students were advised to acquire practical knowledge on parliament, budget session, political culture and submit report to their respective course teacher.
On arrival at the National Parliament house, students were received by Deputy Secretary of Bangladesh National Parliament Secretariat who briefed the team on parliament procedures and structures. After observing the budget session for a while, the students moved to the Conference room to participate in a question-answer session with Col (rtd) Faruk Khan MP. He said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina regularly takes part in the question-answer session in the parliament and answers questions from the opposition as part of her and the government’s accountability to the people.
