AIM Initiative Foundation is a non-profit, registered organization currently providing free education and skill development activities to more than 76 underprivileged children age 7 to 11 of Meradiya and Boithakhali slum through AIM School. Apart from academic knowledge, children also learn computer, drawing, singing, and physical training.

AIM was formed in 2016 with a vision to help slum kids and provide them with education and health necessities. It is a vision of Md Sayed, who was at that time a student studying Pharmacy at East-West University. The idea of a slum school came across his mind when he witnessed young children begging and selling things in front of his University every day when they should have been in school. He started mapping his plans along with some of his friends who possessed the same mentality, which ultimately led to the birth of the AIM Initiative Foundation.

Currently, 104 volunteers are serving with time, energy, dedication, and skills in Education, Health and Environment, Media and Publication, and HR department. Volunteers go to the slums regularly to better understand the peoples' mental and financial conditions and reasons behind their children not being at schools. The volunteers utilize their education, knowledge, communication, and persuasive skills to motivate them to send their kids to school.

" I have devoted myself to AIM School Meradiya because I believe that, being a privileged young person, it is my duty to ensure that the underprivileged children of our country get proper access to education and skill development activities", says Subrina Habib Antora, coordinator of AIM School.

"When we (AIM Initiative Foundation) found Ayesha, seven-year-old life in Meradiya slum, she was selling fruits on the street beside her mother. Now she is a student in 2nd grade in our AIM Initiative Foundation school. I am sponsoring her education and healthcare for quite long now. I couldn't be happier to see her smiling innocent face", says Monidipa Saha, donner of ‘Sponsor A Child’ and PR Manager in AIM Initiative Foundation.

‘Sponsor A Child’ is one of the core programmes of AIM Initiative Foundation through which academic education and skill development activities of one child is ensured in AIM School by the monthly contribution of a sponsor. The higher goal of this programme is to empower one family by providing both academic and skill-based education to a child.

AIM Initiative Foundation has also started a new project titled 'Project Her' focusing on menstruation. It aims to discuss menstrual taboos with adolescents and encourage both genders to come out of period stigmas. In a few months, the project has tremendous success in several schools in Dhaka city.

AIM Initiative Foundation believes one educated child can empower a family.
