A day-long Agriculture Fair was held with the aim of increasing production of integrated crops using less water and less pesticides on the campus of Bishnapur High School in Damurhuda Upazila of Chuadanga district on Monday.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kissinger Chakma inaugurated the fair as the chief guest.
The inaugural function was presided over by Damurhuda Union Parishad Chairman Hazrat Ali.
UNO of Damurhuda Rokhsana Mita, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Sajal Kumar Das, Executive Director of Pryatasha Samazik Unnayan Sangstha Billal Hossain and Damurhuda Upazila Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer Jalal Uddin were present as special guests.
Chief guest Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kissinger Chakma said, “I hope that you will continue the programme that you have started for the development of agriculture by getting a financial support.”
It is learnt, over 22 farmers of Juranpur Union in Damurhuda Upazila have presented the techniques of safe crop production in their stalls with the funding of the Japanese government and the support of Protyasha Samazik Unnayan Sangstha.
These stalls show how to increase the production of fish and meat on all crops' land by using less pesticides and water.
