Attorney General Md Asaduzzaman today expressed the hope that ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina would come back home and face the trial.
"If you all examine her statements, (you would see) her favorite line was - 'if you have the courage, come back and face trial.' It was her philosophy. Now it will be good for her as well to come back home and face the trial and I hope she would do this," he said while talking to reporters at his office here.
The attorney general further said the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has issued arrest warrant against Sheikh Hasina, adding, all the accused should face the trial by appearing before the court.
"If the prosecution is convinced about the location of the accused, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has the scope to take steps to bring him/her back. She (Hasina) can be brought back through the assistance of the Interpol. We just have to make sure whether the Interpol has its jurisdiction over the country concerned," the chief state counsel said.
