Off-spinner Al-Amin Hossain showed Afghanistan how dangerous Bangladeshi spinners could be at their home ground.

Even he is not genuine bowler and not in the Bangladesh Test squad, still Al-Amin claimed 4-51 to spark the Afghans collapse that saw the visitors reach 242-6 at the end of day one in two-day match at MA Aziz Stadium in Chattogram on Sunday.

After opting to bat first, Afghanistan openers Ihsanullah and Ibrahim Zadran batted well as they combined well for a 131-run partnership to hint a tough day for the hosts.

Both of them struck half-century before retiring to give others a chance to bat on. Ihsanullah made 62 while Zadran scored 52.

However after their departure, Al-Amin came to the stage and sparked their middle order collapse. Amid the collapse Hasmatullah Shahidi scored 26.

Before the bails were drawn for day one, Afsar Zazai and Rashid Khan were batting on 20 and 6 runs respectively.

Apart from Al-Amin’s four-for, pacer Sumon Khan took 2-21.

The first Test between Bangladesh and Afghanistan starts from September 5 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
