Afghanistan defeated the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by six wickets in the third and final T20I at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi to win the three-match series 2-1.
Chasing 164, Janat smashed a fiery fifty with Ibrahim Zadran's top-scoring innings to chase down the target with five balls to spare.
Afghanistan found themselves in all sorts of trouble after they were reduced to 86 for four in 13.1 overs. Then, Janat and Ibrahim took the charge as the duo added an 80-run partnership to reach the target.
After being asked to bat first, the UAE got off to a flying start as Muhammad Waseem and Vriitya Aravind didn’t let the Afghan bowlers to settle down. The duo put on 129 runs for the opening wicket off 15.4 overs.
Aravind scored 59 runs off 53 balls with seven fours and one six and Waseem went on to score 75 runs off 50 balls with the help of eight fours and three sixes.
Rashid Khan was the pick of the bowlers for Afghanistan after he finished with impressive figures of 4-0-16-2.
