The people in Jhenaidah have been showing their interest in testing the Covid-19 virus. They have been rushing at Jheniadah Sadar hospital and upazila health complexes every day to be sanguine whether they were infected or not.
Labani Saha, a college student when asked at Shailkupa upazila health complex (UHC) in Jheniadah said that her family members are panicked following the spread of the globally challenged Covid-19 in Bangladesh.
To be sanguine, the family members had completed the test. The authorities could not find any infection in the test.
Laboni said each and every people should avail the opportunity of Covid-19 test at their homestead as the charge was affordable, she added.
According to district health office sources, till September 16they have tested 1,831 samples where 1,2673 were released from the havoc, while a total of 31 had died of the corona virus pandemic in last five months.
The sources said highest 825 persons were infected by the disease and 20 died of the havoc in JhenidahSadar upazila.
Sources said they are charging Taka 100 and 300 for testing in the hospital and home services respectively. Further, the poor patients admitted in the hospitals are getting free of cost test. Civil surgeon Dr. Salina Begum when contacted said the percentage of infection and death was decreasing gradually in the district. They are hopeful to make the district corona-free within a few months.
She added a meeting of the corona prevention committee was held with deputy commissioner Saroj Kumar Nath in the chair where he had advised the health department officials to keep themselves alert about the global pandemic as the winter might grave the situation.
Civil surgeon said she had advised the health department officials to ensure test of the patients and probable treatment free of cost at government hospitals and corona hospitals with intensive care. It will regain the confidence of the infected people and get recovered faster.
