Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi attends Presidential Parade

The visiting Indian Naval Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi on Thursday attended the Presidential Parade of Midshipman and Direct Entry Officer  at Bangladesh Naval Academy in the port city of Chittagong.

He attended the event as the chief guest. The Indian Navy Chief also inspected the magnificent parade and took salute.

According to the ISPR press release, a total of 69 new officers including 57 midshipmen and 12 direct entry officers of Bangladesh Navy received commission through the parade.Among them there are 9 female midshipmen and one female direct entry officer.

During the parade, Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi presented medals to the highest achievers in various subjects. Midshipman Munkasir Abedin Alvi received the 'Sword of Honour' as the top four midshipmen with the highest standard in all subjects. 

Besides Midshipman Md Tauseef ul Haque received  Naval Chief  Gold Medal as the 2nd highest scorer .

Acting Sub Lt. Monajat-e Jannat was awarded  as the highest scorer ' Bir Shrestha Ruhul Amin Shaheed Ruhul Amin’ gold medal.

In his address to the newly commissioned officers, Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi said, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the friendly relations between Bangladesh and India have made unprecedented progress. 

The bilateral exercises held between the navies of the two countries are a reflection of mutual friendship and cooperative relations, he added.

The three-dimensional Bangla­desh Navy has won international acclaim for its outstanding contribution to UN peacekeeping, including national development, maritime crisis management and disaster management, he stated. 

He further said that the rigorous training of the Bangladesh Naval Academy as skilled and professional officers, will prepare those who will be able to face any challenge.

The parade was attended by senior officers of Army, Navy and Air Force, Indian delegation, local dignitaries and parents of newly commissioned officers. 

The presence of the Indian naval chief at the parade is expected to further enhance the cooperative relationship and sense of brotherhood between the two navies.
