A 26-year-old trans model cum actress Sherin Celin Mathew was found dead in a rented apartment at Chakkaraparambu in Edappally city in Kerala on Tuesday, Times of India reported quoting police. The reports also suggest that the model Sherin Celin Mathew was found hanging from a ceiling fan and this was confirmed by her roommates.
Reportedly, the police officials said that when they reached Sherin’s apartment, they found the model hanging from the ceiling fan. Her mobile phone camera was reportedly turned on that suggests that she committed suicide while she was on a video call with someone.
According to the sources, Sherin has been suffering from depression due to some personal differences with some of her friends. The model cum actress was staying in Chakkaraparambu for some years although her hometown was in the Alappuzha district.
According to the police reports, a case has been registered for unnatural death and prima facia it was a suicide. The reports also suggest that a detailed probe into the death of Sherin is going on and reportedly the body will be sent for a postmortem soon.
Meanwhile, it was recently that the Malayalam model cum actress Sahana was found dead at her apartment on her 22nd birthday. Sahana’s parents alleged that she has suffered domestic abuse from her husband Sajjad which may have led to her death. According to Sahana’s parent’s statement, the police have taken Sajjad into custody for further probe into the case.
On the other hand, in the year 2021, a trans woman radio jockey Ananya Kumari Alex was also found dead in her apartment in Kochi which is also suspected to be a case of suicide.
