Actors can play an active role in building Bangladesh as a developed and humane state to be followed in the world, said Information and Broadcasting Minister as well as the Joint General Secretary of Awami League Dr Hassan Mahmud.
He expressed this hope in his speech as the chief guest at the annual general meeting 2021 of the Association of Performing Artists at the National Theater Auditorium at Rajdhani Shilpakala Academy on Saturday evening. The minister also inaugurated the association's website actorsequitybd.com.
State Minister for Information Dr Murad Hassan, Awami League office secretary Barrister Biplob Barua, Chitranayak Alamgir, renowned actor Mamunur Rashid, Tariq Anam Khan, Salahuddin Laval spoke on the occasion under the chairmanship of Shahiduzzaman Selim, President of Actors Association and General Secretary Ahsan Habib Nasim.
Dr. Hasan Mahmud said, “Our goal is to build a prosperous and prosperous Bangladesh of the dream of the father of the nation by 2041 under the leadership of Bangabandhu’s Daughter.”
The role of actors is essential in shaping the minds of the people in order to develop the physical infrastructure and build a humane and social welfare state.
In his speech, the Minister congratulated the actors for their love for their profession. He said the artists did not go into other professions out of love for art. Many have remained in the world of acting despite many struggles and sacrifices, who could have gone to another profession if they wanted. Our acting has been enriched by their presence.
Thanking everyone for their solidarity with the steps taken by the government for the protection and development of the country's television sector, the Information Minister said that some people thought that it would not be possible to broadcast ad-free or clean feed on foreign channels as per law. But with the cooperation of all, we have been able to implement it in the interest of the country.
Hasan Mahmud said, there was no order of local TVs in the cable network, now there is. In order to protect the local artists and the advertising industry, we have made a rule of paying Tk 200,000 fee per artist and Tk 20,000 per advertisement.
State Minister Murad Hasan in his speech called upon all to take the acting industry forward inspired by the ideals of Bangabandhu and Liberation War.
In their speeches, the eminent artists expressed their gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Information Minister for the formation of the Artists' Welfare Trust.
He also hoped that the government would continue to play a pivotal role in the expansion of the media and the world of acting.
