Faruque Ahmed, a renowned actor with a career spanning over 40 years, is stepping into the director’s chair for the first time. Known for his remarkable performances in theater, television, and films, Faruque has been a member of the popular theater group Dhaka Theatre for many years.

Now, he is directing a stage play titled "Rongmohal," written by Rubaiyat Ahmed. Expressing his gratitude, Faruque said, "I am grateful to the eminent theatre personalities Nasir Uddin Yousuff and Shimul Yusuf for believing in me and giving me such a great responsibility." He added, "The story of the play is thoughtful; the audience will leave the hall with an essence of food for their thoughts."

Faruque remarked, "I believe that whatever we serve to the audience should be tasteful. Whether it's comedy, romance, or mystery, the audience will enjoy any good project."

As a former student of Jahangirnagar University, Faruque had the opportunity to learn many lessons regarding theater from the eminent playwright and theater personality Selim Al Deen. He also directed stage plays besides acting during his university days. "After joining Dhaka Theatre, I have learned so many things and am still learning from Nasir Uddin Yousuff. I believe that my work will reflect his teachings," Faruque shared.

Rehearsals for the play "Rongmohal" are currently underway, and it is scheduled to be staged in October.
