Private ambulance drivers in Natore formed a human chain at the Puratan Bus stand area of the town in protest against the harassment and extortion by the syndicate of drivers by making the dead-body and the patients hostages at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

The human chain organisers demanded to take immediate action by the local administration against the syndicate and the vicious 'dalal' (broker) circle to save the drivers of the ambulances of Natore.  The human chain programme was addressed, among others, by Natore Transport Labourer leader Akramuzzaman Raonak and President of Natore District Car, Micro and private ambulance drivers' Association Shahinur Rahman.

Speakers at the human chain programme alleged, after carrying a patient at RMCH or during carrying a dead patient's body from the hospital, ambulance drivers at RMCH demanded Taka 7,000 to 10,000 toll from the drivers of Natore and failing to pay the toll, the drivers at the hospital used to harass and torture them. In protest against such 'illegal' activities of ambulance drivers of RMCH, the ambulance drivers of Natore were observing a strike for last five-day.
