A Narayanganj court on Monday (May 29) granted two-day remand for prime accused in a murder case.
Kazi Mohammad Mohshin, senior judicial magistrate, granted the police remand after hearing both the parties of Afzal murder case in Fatulla model police station, said court general record officer (GRO) Rokonuzzaman.
The accused is Razu Prodhan, 35, son of Riaz Prodhan of West Deobhog area under sadar upazila.
On May 24, members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-11 detained the accused from Amtoli area of Tungibari police station in Munshiganj. In that time, RAB-11 informed media that Razu Prodhan is wanted by 23 criminal cases including 2 murder cases.A gang of criminals attacked Afzal, 42, and stabbed to death on April 6 at around 8.30 am at Deobhog Hashem Bag area.
Slain Afzal’s father Ebadul filed a murder case with Fatulla police station accusing 16 named and unnamed 6 others. The case investigator sub-inspector Giasuddin said that the deceased was also a resident of the same house and also related to each other.
RAB in the brief mentioned that the arrested Razu is a notorious criminal and wanted by murder, robbery and narcotics cases.
