2 people were killed, another 2 injured and 9 cows dead when the cow laden truck lost control and collided with a tree at Alukdia village on Chuadanga-Meherpur road in sadar upazila of Chuadanga district on November 4 at 2 am.
The two deceased are identified as Ashraful Hoque, 50, son of Lutfor Rahman o village Roypur in sadar upazila of Meherpur district and Monir Hossain, 45, son of Harun Or Rashid of Bus Standpara in Meherpur town.
The injured persons are Kalam Sheikh, 40, son of Nizam Sheikh of village Roypur in sadar upazila of Meherpur district and Monirul Islam, 41, son of Jahiruddin of Khandakarpara in Meherpur district town.
According to Nirob Hossain, Inspector (Operation) of Chuadanga police station and local sources, the cow laden truck was going to Meherpur while the truck lost its control and dashed with a road side tree leaving dead and injured. On information police rushed to the spot, recovered the bodies and injured persons and sent them to Chuadanga sadar hospital for postmortem and treatment. Personnel of fire station rescued the victims and truck.
Dr Lion, Medical Officer of Chuadanga Sadar Hospital said, the injured persons are admitted to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital for treatment. Their health condition is now improving well.
