ACC sues 2 ‘Yaba traders’

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) sued two Yaba dealers of Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday. Assistant Director Md Humayun Kabir filed the case on the charge of obtaining huge amounts of illegal wealth through Yaba business.

The accused persons are Enamul Haque, son of Mozahar Mia of Nazir Para area of Teknaf, a member of Teknaf Sadar Union Parishad ward no 8 and Md. Abdullah, son of Abul Bashar of Ghona area of Lengurbil Hatia of the same upazila.

According to the case statement, Assistant Director of Anti-Corruption Commission's Chittagong-2 office Md. Humayun Kabir started investigations against Nurul Bashar and Nurul Huda. During the investigation, illegal assets worth of Tk 36 lakh 73 thousand were discovered in the name of Enamul Haque for which the income sources were unknown.

On the other hand, illegal assets worth of Tk 1 crore 23 lakh were discovered in the name of Abdullah. At the same time, both of them did not submit their property details to the Anti-Corruption Commission within the fixed time. 

Confirming the matter, Humayun Kabir said that their assets that have been found during the investigation will soon be seized. He also said that he has been appointed as the investigating officer for both cases.
