Today is the 16th death anniversary of educationist Abul Hashem, founder and principal of Singhakhali School and College at Bhandaria Upazilla of Pirojpur district.
A discussion and prayer session will be held on the college premises on the occasion, said a press release.
Qur’an Khwani and dua mahfil will be held at different mosques at his village home of Singhakhali in Bhandaria and also in Dhaka.
Besides, destitute and orphans feeding programmes will be held in Bhandaria and Dhaka.
Abul Hashem founded a school, college, mosque, madrassah, post office and 10-bed government hospital on his donated land at Singhakhali.
He authored a textbook titled ‘English Grammar and Composition for Class Six’ and a book on local history named ‘Bhandaria Darpon’.
