A male victim of an alleged abduction, murder and body concealment case returned home on last Wednesday (September 30) and surrendered before the judicial magistrate court in Narayanganj after four years of filing the case.
Md. Mamun,22, son of Abul Kalam of Shakahari Bazar villagein Chandpur’s Motlob upazila went missing on 10 May 2014 from Lamapara village area under Fatulla police station in Narayanganj. Mamun’s father after two years filed and abduction murder and body concealment case with Fatulla model police station in this regard.
According to the first investigating officer of the case sub-inspector Mizanur Rahman, the case was investigated based on the statement given by a female witness named Maksuda Begum, Wife of accused Sattar Molla. All the accused suffered prison life due to the charges brought against them.
Before the investigation by sub-inspector Mizanur Rahman was concluded, the case shifted to Narayanganj detective branch. The detective branch investigated the case for a few months and then it was shifted to the Crime investigation department in Narayanganj.
The first case investigator sub-inspector Mizanur Rahman arrested all six accused and took them under police remand from the court. He extracted an evidence statement that was recorded by the magistrate. The last case investigation officer sub-inspector Md. Ziauddin Uzzwal submitted a charge sheet to the court on December 18, 2019.
The case had already been running for trial, in the meantime on September 30 the victim appeared before Narayanganj judicial magistrate court.
All the three investigation officer of the case demand that they did not submit charge sheet under section 302, which means murder as well as they did not find him elsewhere so gave charge sheet on abduction and concealment section.
Notably in August, 2020 Jisa Moni, a murdered school girl on police report returned home and surrender before the court after fifty one days of the incident. The case was investigated by Narayanganj Sadar model police station.
