Six times champions Abahani Krira Chakra Limited edged past Bangladesh Police by 2-1 in the sixth round of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium, Mymensigh on Friday.
In the days other match Rahmatganj MFS shared spoils with Sheikh Russel when their match ended in a goalless draw held at Bashundhara Kings Arena Stadium on same day.
Title contenders the Dhanmondi outfit Abahani took the lead just 12 minutes of the outings. Brazilian striker Jonathan Fernandes scored for the team. It was the third goals for the striker in the season.

Meanwhile, Rahmatganj MFS are still unbeaten after playing six matches, while SK Russel were hoping to end their five-match winless draught. Rahmatganj MFS are in sixth place with six points, while Sheikh Russel also earned six points but are on eighth position.
Sheikh Russel played out a 0-0 draw in their previous match at home ground against Fortis FC to remain winless in four matches at a stretch.
