Aspire to Innovate-a2i has launched five new innovative initiatives to deliver smart services to the doorsteps of the people of the country to build Smart Bangladesh, read a PR.
These Smart services are ‘Smart 333’, Smart Pregnancy Monitoring System, Smart e-Trade Licence, students' collective assessment app 'Noipunyo', and integrated e-toll collection service ‘ekPass’. The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated these innovative initiatives at the opening ceremony of the Sheikh Russell Day-2023 phase at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) on Wednesday. The State Minister for Information & Communication Technology Division, Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak was present at the time.
a2i launched these five innovative and smart initiatives to save time, cost and travel for the people of the country.
Smart 333: National Helpline 333 has added a new dimension. AI technology has been added to this national helpline. Citizens will easily get this service through Smart 333 in an automated manner to facilitate communication with government officials and access all government information and services. Call the toll-free national helpline 333 and talk to the AI voice assistant 'Smart Sathi'. Initially, through this smart helpline service, you can get the services of a passport, national identity card, birth registration, smart card, driving license, and communication with government officials.
Smart Pregnancy Monitoring System: The Smart Pregnancy Monitoring System has been launched under the initiative of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Directorate General of Family Planning, and in collaboration with a2i. This smart system has been developed with the aim and objective of ensuring continuous pregnancy monitoring for the safety and well-being of expectant mothers and new-born and keeping all information related to the diseases and treatment of expectant mothers in one place. It will help in the early detection and treatment of pregnancy complications by monitoring and analyzing data related to the health of expectant mothers. Doctors in community clinics and public and private hospitals will ensure this smart health service.
Smart e-Trade License: This smart e-trade license has been developed by a2i. Citizens can get an e-trade license anytime, anywhere, by completing all the procedures. Businessmen and citizens will get this e-trade license within 24 hours. Union Parishad, Municipal Corporations, Upazila, Zilla Parishad, and City Corporation will issue licenses after the application verification process.
'Noipunyo' App: According to the National Curriculum 2022, the Noipunyo App is a student learning and summative assessment app. In order to save, process, and report students' learning and summative assessment records smartly and easily, the Ministry of Education, National Curriculum and Textbook Board, and in collaboration with a2i and UNICEF Bangladesh, have launched the Student's Learning and Summative Assessment App, Noipunyo. Through this app, students, parents, and teachers can know the status of various qualifications and skills of students in all subjects.
integrated e-toll collection service, 'ekPass': A nationwide integrated electronic toll collection service is ekPass. This innovative service has been launched with the initiative of the Road Transport and Highways Division, the Roads and Highways Department, and the Bangladesh Bridge Authority in collaboration with a2i to ensure uninterrupted movement of vehicles at toll plazas by automating toll management using modern technology and involving financial service providers. It will oversee toll operators, the road department, the BRTA, the bridge department, and the bridge authority. All citizens of the country, road transport, and owner associations can easily enjoy toll facilities through this app.
The a2i, a whole-of-government program implemented by the ICT Division and Cabinet Division, supported by UNDP Bangladesh, catalyzes citizen-friendly public service innovations, simplifying government and bringing it closer to people. It supports the government to be at the forefront of integrating new, whole-of-society approaches to achieve the SDGs.
