A week-long Jatra Festival 2024 is set to kick off in Dhaka, aiming to support the country's Jatra artists and promote the Jatra industry. Organised by the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, this seven-day festival will take place at Suhrawardy Udyan from November 1 to November 7.
The festival begins on November 1 with the screening of "Nihoto Golap," directed by Kabir Khan, performed by Agantuk Palakar. The Shurobhi team will also present a Jatrapala on stage.
On November 2, the festival continues with "Anar Koli," directed by Shamim Khandkar and presented by the New Shamim Natya Shongstha.
November 3 features "Meghe Dhaka Tara," directed by Manosh Kumar and performed by Bongobani Opera.
On the fourth day, audiences can
enjoy "Lalan Fakir," directed by Brozen Kumar Biswas, presented by Noro-Narayan Opera.
November 5 will showcase "Apon Dulal," directed by Monir Hossain, with a performance by Bondhu Opera.
On November 6, "Nawab Sirajuddaula," directed by Abul Hashem, will be presented by Jatrabondhu Opera.
The festival concludes on November 7 with "Phoolan Devi," directed by Sheikh Rafiqul, performed by Sharmin Opera.
