The people of Jhenaidah have witnessed a unique activity of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB). The elite force had handed over a tin-shed house for a homeless poor woman on Thursday. The woman had busted with tears when she received the house form the RAB officials.
RAB camp commander in Jhenaidah Masud Alam said that Kamala Khatun, an elderly woman of Dhanharia village adjacent to the RAB camp, had been serving at the camp as domestic one for a long time.
After damaging of her straw made house she had been living at neighbors’ varanda for want of accommodation for past few months.
Hearing the information the RAB official with the cooperation of his personnel had offered financial help personally to construct a tin-shed house at the village. The RAB men also participated in constructing the house themselves.
The RAB official said abide their law and order maintaining activities, the elite force also stands by the distressed people in need on humanitarian ground.
Elderly Kamala Khatun when contacted for her reaction about handing over the house by the RAB men, said she did not believe the information when the officials had expressed their desire to her, Masud Alam said.
“I am thundered, surprised as the RAB men had ensured me a permanent house for me and my disabled husband. I pray for the peace-keeping jawans so that they could stand by more ailing people in future abide their casual activities” Kamala Khatun said.
