The Bangladesh 'A' team has been actively participating in bilateral series over the past two years. In addition to the Emerging Asia Cup, the 'A' team toured Pakistan earlier this year. Previously, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) High Performance (HP) team and the 'A' team visited Darwin, Australia. Last year, the 'A' team played four-day match series against India and the West Indies 'A' team at home, outside of the Asian Games.
In 2022, the 'A' team toured the West Indies. The BCB has planned to continue this momentum over the next few years. Seven bilateral series for the 'A' team have been confirmed up to 2028, with the possibility of adding one or two more series through mutual agreements with other cricket boards. According to the Future Tour Plan (FTP), the 'A' team will play two series next year. The New Zealand 'A' team will visit Bangladesh for two four-day matches and three one-day matches, potentially in May. In August, the Bangladesh 'A' team will travel to Darwin, Australia, for six T20 matches.
In May 2026, Sri Lanka 'A' will come to Bangladesh for two four-day matches and three one-day matches. Later that year, in August-September, the 'A' team will tour South Africa for two four-day matches and three one-day matches. The 'A' team will return to South Africa in 2027 for a similar series and will also tour New Zealand for the same number of matches. Their only tour in 2028 will be to Sri Lanka, including two four-day and three one-day matches.
