A new wave of protest has emerged on social media platforms with the trending hashtag 'Odd Dot Selfie,' as individuals, including prominent figures like actress Jaya Ahsan and Nusrat Imroz Tisha, take a stand against the oppression of women in society.

In Bengali culture, the tip holds significant cultural and aesthetic value, symbolizing grace and tradition. However, instead of adorning the forehead's center, individuals are now placing the tip slightly to the right or left, creating what is known as the 'curved-tip selfie.'

This innovative form of protest has gained momentum across various social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, with women's rights activists and ordinary individuals alike participating in the movement.

Actress Jaya Ahsan, Nusrat Imroz Tisha, and several other actors and influencers have lent their voices to the cause, urging others to join the protest and raise awareness about women's rights issues.

Speaking about the significance of the protest, influencer Najiba Nowshin highlighted, "Wearing the tip is ingrained in our culture, but by shifting its placement, we are symbolically challenging the oppression faced by women."

Actress Sara Zaker emphasized the urgency of speaking out against the various forms of violence and harassment that women endure daily, both within and outside the home. She stressed the importance of collective action in addressing these issues and creating meaningful change.

Activist Fauzia Karim Anu underscored the need for women to break the silence surrounding violence and harassment, both offline and online. She emphasized that ending violence against women requires a collective effort and a commitment to speaking out against injustice.

Jaya Ahsan, reflecting on the disparity between social media portrayals and the reality of women's lives, questioned whether likes on smiling faces adorned with tips truly reflected the challenges faced by women behind closed doors.

Actress Tisha echoed Ahsan's sentiments, urging every woman to defy taboos and raise her voice against oppression. She emphasized that only through collective action and solidarity can society address the root causes of violence and discrimination against women.

Tisha encouraged individuals to join the movement by taking a 'curved-tip selfie' and sharing it on Facebook, amplifying the message of empowerment and solidarity against women's oppression.

As the 'Odd Dot Selfie' movement gains traction, it serves as a powerful reminder of the resilience and determination of individuals to challenge injustice and advocate for a more equitable society.
