A fisherman wounded by Arakan Army gunfire passes away

After receiving treatment for six days, Hossain Ali, a fisherman in Cox's Bazar, passed away in the hospital after being shot by the Separatist Organisation "Arakan Army" of Myanmar while he was fishing in the Naf River in Teknaf.

The inspector-in-charge of Whykong Police Station under Teknaf Thana, Md. Shahadat Hossain Siraji, confirmed the matter on Tuesday night at 10 pm.

The victim, Md. Hossain Ali, 50, is the son of the deceased Abdul Shukkar of Babukhali village in Whykong Union of Teknaf district.

Quoting the relatives of the deceased, Shahadat Hossain Siraji said that after being shot by the Arakan Army, injured Hossain Ali was taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, where he was being treated. 

He died around one thirty at midnight on Monday.

Relatives said that the postmortem of the deceased Hossain Ali was performed at the Chittagong Medical College Hospital Mortuary on Tuesday afternoon. 

His body is supposed to be taken to Teknaf later that night.

But Shahadat Hossain said his body did not reach home until 10 pm Tuesday.
