Tazrin Farhana Oindrila, daughter of renowned Bangladeshi actor Bulbul Ahmed, is preparing to direct her first film—a biopic celebrating her father’s extraordinary life and career. The title of the film has not yet been finalized.
Bulbul Ahmed, a celebrated figure in Bangladeshi cinema, is known for his powerful performances and his iconic role as "Devdas." His daughter, Oindrila, is determined to honor his legacy with this film.
Oindrila shared her connection to the project. She recalled making a documentary about her father in 2010, titled "Ekjon Jibonto Kingbodontir Kotha" (Chronicles of a Living Legend). The documentary was well-received and continues to air on Channel i during his birth and death anniversaries. Inspired by the success and her background in film studies, Oindrila decided to make a biopic as her directorial debut.
Oindrila remembered her father’s emotional response to the documentary, saying he was moved that he got to see it while he was still alive. She had also planned to write a biography about him, but his death before its completion was a profound loss. "I am dedicating myself to this biopic, which I have researched for three years," she said.
The film will cover Ahmed’s life, from his childhood and banking career to his acting journey. Oindrila plans to use multiple actors to depict her father at different stages of his life and is currently finalizing the cast and script.
Although Oindrila is on a break from acting, she remains passionate about presenting and continues to host special programs on television. Her dedication to the biopic reflects her deep commitment to honoring her father's memory and legacy.
