Three admission notices for the academic year 2023–2024 that were recently published contained an astounding 98 inconsistencies and spelling errors, adding to the attention-grabbing problem that Rajshahi University's official notices consistently lack.
The majority of errors, totaling 48, were discovered in the 'C' unit notices within the Faculty of Science. 'B' unit notices followed with 33 mistakes, while 'A' unit notices had 17 errors.
The university’s teachers and students said, this recurring problem has seemingly become the norm for the university, with numerous instances of errors appearing in circulars, office orders, and letters issued by authorities, often making negative headlines in national dailies and online portals.
The situation is quite depressing in this regard, according to University Md. Sultan-Ul-Islam, Vice-Chancellor (Administration). He said, this has been warned about enough in the past. Even so, a lot of notice errors are never desirable. The department heads will be notified, and appropriate sanctions for lowering the university's calibre will be applied.
