As many as 96 countries including Bangladesh have agreed to Mutual Acceptance of Vaccination Certificates of India’s Covid-19 vaccines and vaccination process.
“The 96 countries' recognition of Indian vaccine certificates reflected India’s inoculation process,” said India’s Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya on Tuesday.
He said the World Health Organisation (WHO) had so far included eight vaccines against Covid-19 in Emergency Use Listing (EUL) of which two were Indian -- Covaxin and Covishield,”
The minister said the union government is in continuous communication with all countries for mutual recognition of vaccine certificates, and WHO and nationally approved vaccines to facilitate hassle-free international travel across countries. The 96 countries which recognised India’s vaccination certificates included - Canada, the USA, Bangladesh, Switzerland, Sweden, Austria, the Netherlands, Hungary, Finland, Poland, the UK, Germany, Belgium, Irelands, Spain, Brazil, Turkey, Bulgaria, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, Mali, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Angola and Nigeria.
Meanwhile, India’s cumulative Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 108.47 crores, India's health ministry said in a statement today.
