In the first phase, 96,000 doses of corona vaccine are arriving in Jashore. District health department will get the corona vaccine in the next 4-5 days, according to health department sources.
A total of 34 vaccination centers or booths have been set up in the district and 27 teams including a doctor, two vaccinator and four volunteers each, have been prepared. In addition, six teams will work as reserve team.
In the first phase, 96,000 people will be vaccinated in the district said Sheikh Abu Shahin, Jashore Civil Surgeon. He added that out of 34 vaccination booths, 8 have been set up at Jashore 250-bed General Hospital, 4 at Jashore Combined Military Hospital (CMH), 2 at Jashore Police Line Hospital and 2 in each Upazila Health Complex in the district.
In case of any side effects after vaccination, six reserve teams comprising of specialist doctors under the District Civil Surgeon's Office will work.
Dr. Arif Ahmed, Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of Jashore 250-bed General Hospital said eight booths have been set up in the hospital. In these booths a total of 48 nurses and volunteers will be responsible for administering the vaccine. The doctors and medical team of Covid Ward will supervise them.
According to the Jashore Civil Surgeon’s Office, after the corona vaccine arrives in the next four to five days, it will be stored at the district EPI center. The district health department has already completed all the preparations for vaccination.
Sources said that the first phase of corona vaccination would start in Jashore simultaneously with the rest of the country from the first week of February. In the first phase, doctors, nurses, freedom fighters, health workers, administrative employees, police, law enforcement personnel, teachers, journalists and bankers will get the vaccine on priority basis.
Individuals wishing to be vaccinated can complete the registration online or through the Safety App. The Department of Health is sending more vaccines than the demand. As a result, the immunization programme among the general public will be accelerated, said the civil surgeon.
