A total of 88 persons including four NGO workers have been infected with Coronavirus during last 24 hour in Cox's Bazar district totalling the number of Corona infected patients at 1,604 including 34 Rohingya nationals.
Dr Mahbubur Rahman, Civil Surgeon of Cox's Bazar, confirmed the matter on Monday night.
Dr Mahbubur Rahman said, a total of 470 samples were collected and tested from eight upazilas of Cox's Bazar, 34-Rohingya camps of Ukhia and Teknaf and neighbouring Bandarban district and Satkanai and Lohagara upazila where results of 98 were found positive. Of the total positive tested persons, 88 including four NGO workers belonged to Cox's Bazar district.
According to Health department officials, so far 1,604 persons including 38 Rohingya and 11 NGO workers have been infected with the Coronavirus in the district. Of the total infected, 370 were cured and returned home and 27died. till Sunday.
