The results for the first phase of college admissions were released on Sunday. Despite their high scores, 8500 GPA-5 students did not get into any college. In total, 48,000 students did not secure admission to any of their preferred colleges during this phase.

From May 26 to June 13, more than 13 lakh 35 thousand students applied online for admission to class XI. Of these, 12 lakh 87 thousand students were placed in their preferred colleges, leaving 48,000 without a spot. Many of the students who did not get in had applied to only a few top colleges, which were already full. This was confirmed by Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar, President of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee. He emphasized that students should have chosen a wider range of colleges based on their marks.

Students who did not get a college in the first phase will automatically be considered for the second phase. They need to go online and update their preferences, adding more colleges to increase their chances.

For those who got a college in the first phase, they need to confirm their admission by paying a 335 taka fee by June 29 at 8 pm. They can pay through the payment gateway or Bkash. If they want, they can apply for migration to another college, with the first migration results being published on July 4.

The second phase of applications will run from June 30 to July 2, with results on July 4. The third phase will run from July 9-10, with results on July 12. All admissions will be finalized by July 25, and classes will begin on July 30.
