With the healing of 786 more patients from the Covid-19 on Tuesday, the total recovery count in Rajshahi division rose to 1,03,397 since the pandemic began in March, 2020.
A total of 513 more people have tested positive for the deadly virus in all eight districts of the division on the day, raising the caseload to 1,16,178 so far. The new positive cases are showing a little bit of a falling trend compared to the previous day's figure of 553, Dr Habibul Ahsan Talukder,divisional director of Health, said.
The death toll reached 1,725, including 700 in Bogura, 334 in Rajshahi with 212 in its city and 176 in Natore as two new fatalities were reported during the last 24 hours, he said.
Besides, all the positive cases of Covid-19 have, so far, been brought under treatment while 25,388 were kept in isolation units of different dedicated hospitals for institutional quarantine. Of them, 21,072 have been released.
Meanwhile, 283 more people have been sent to home and institutional quarantine afresh while 286 others were released from isolation during the same period.
Of the 513 new infected cases, 155 were detected in Pabna, followed by 112 in Rajshahi, including 87 in its city, 69 in Sirajganj, 53 in Chapainawabganj, 47 in Natore, 40 in Bogura, 26 in Naogaon and 11 in Joypurhat districts.
With the newly detected patients, the district-wise break-up of the total cases now stands at 33,431 in Rajshahi including 27,480 in its city, 6,384 in Chapainawabganj, 7,591 in Naogaon, 9,490 in Natore, 5,495 in Joypurhat, 24,642 in Bogura, 13,221 in Sirajganj and 15,994 in Pabna districts.
A total of 1,23,071 people have, so far, been kept under quarantine since March 10, 2020 to prevent community transmission of the deadly Covid-19.Of them, 1,17,872 have, by now, been released as they were given clearance certificates after completing their quarantine.
