The pass rate of Chittagong Education Board (CEB) in Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examination of 2023 is 74.45 percent.
The results of HSC and equivalent examinations were announced yesterday (Sunday).
This year's pass rate has decreased compared to last year. This time 1 lakh 3 thousand 248 students participated and 75 thousand 903 people passed and 6 thousand 339 people got GPA-5 under Chittagong Education Board.
Whereas last year the pass rate was 80.50 percent. Some 12,670 people got GPA-5 in under Chittagong Education Board last year among those who passed. Compared to last year, both the pass rate and GPA-5 have decreased this year.
The results of Chittagong Education Board were announced at the Board’s auditorium Sunday afternoon. The results were announced by the Controller of Examinations Professor AMM Mujibur Rahman.
According to the information of the Board of Education, 1 lakh 1 thousand 248 students out of a total of 279 colleges, participated in the HSC examination held in 2023. A total of 75 thousand 903 passed.
The attendance was 1 lakh 1 thousand 949 students. The pass rate is 74.45 percent. Female students are ahead in pass rate and GPA-5 scores, the Board sources said.
Application for re-verification of SSC results will start on Monday. Students can apply till December 3. The application fee for revaluation of result in each subject is fixed at Tk.150.
According to the notification, application for re-verification of results can be made only from Teletalk's prepaid mobile phone. In case of re-examination, application for multiple subjects can be made through the same SMS. In that case, the codes of the first paper of the subject should be written separately with a comma.
Meanwhile, students of science department are ahead in department wise results. This year the pass rate in science department was 88.45 percent. The pass rate for humanities was 65.22 and the pass rate for business education department was 78.55 percent.
On the other hand, the number of colleges with 100 percent pass rate is 12. Last time this number was 16. The number of colleges with zero pass rate is three.
There were 113 centers for 279 institutions in this year's examination. There are 47 thousand 310 male students and 54 thousand 639 female candidates. The number of candidates has increased in all the three categories.
This year 9 thousand 981 people participated from science department, 19 thousand 93 candidates from humanities and 18 thousand 236 candidates from business education department.
Rajshahi attains 78.46 pc pass

adds :The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Rajshahi has attained 78.46 percent pass rate in its examination of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) this year.
A total of 11,258 students, including 5,813 girls, got GPA-5 and the girls became advanced compared to the boys in terms of both pass-percentage and GPA-5 in the result.
Controller of Examination of the board Professor Ariful Islam published the results through a notification Sunday.
He said a total of 1,40,115 students appeared for the examinations and 1,08,580 of them came out successful showing a 78.46 percent pass and figuring 11,258 GPA-5. In the previous year, the board had attained 81.60 percentage pass.
Prof Islam also said the pass percentage of girls is 83.97 against 73.55 percent among boys. Besides, 5,813 girls obtained GPA-5, while 5,445 boys got GPA-5.
He said the students from 749 institutions in all eight districts took part in the examinations in 200 centres.
This year, 19,780 students remained unsuccessful in one subject, while the number of hundred percent passed college is 37.
