734 returnees in home quarantine in Khulna

A total of 734 people who returned from abroad were kept in home quarantine in nine upazilas and two metropolis of the Khuna till March 22 to prevent further spread of coronavirus. Those who are infected with fever and flu should not come to hospital rather they can take advise from doctors in District-Upazila level over phone. District civil surgeon will handle this telephone numbers. Everyone should avoid to go rush area.

These decisions were made at a discussion meeting at Khulna Divisional Committee and DCs through a video conference from Divisional Commissioner's office in Khulna on Sunday.

Khulna Divisional Commissioner Dr Md Anwar Hossain Howlader presided over the meeting while DIG of Khulna range Dr Khondoker Mohid Uddin, Police Commissioner KMP Khandaker Lutful Kabir, Divisional Health director Dr Rasheda Sultana along with high offcials were also present.

Meanwhile, Civil Surgeon of Khulna Dr Sujat Ahmed said, “The expatriates have recently returned from China, Italy, Malaysia and other Middle East countries and they have been asked to remain their respective homes as quarantine.” He further said that stern action would be taken against the returnees if the they violate the directives of confinement. He called upon the people to avoid public gathering and outdoor programmes to prevent coronavirus. 

Khulna district administration, Khulna Metropolitan Police, Khulna City Corporation and district health department continued distributing leaflets inscribed with doings and necessary health instructions for containing the outbreak of the deadly virus.
