A colorful programme was arranged on the occasion of the 70th anniversary and reunion of Ruppur High School at Pakshi Union under Ishwardi Upazila in Pabna on Wednesday.
The programme was inaugurated with the slogan “Come with new affection, come with new song, let’s connect with soul.” The new and old students attended the programme with enthusiasm.
The programme started by hoisting the national flag. Pabna-4 Member of Parliament Galibur Rahman Sharif inaugurated the programme as the chief guest by releasing pigeons and balloons in the stage. Later, he also spoke at the programme.
Convener of the celebration committee and former Dean of Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology Dr Md Shamimur Rahman presided over the programme while former student Rezaul Karim Raja moderated the programme. General Secretary of the celebration committee Dr Md Shamim Reza gave the welcome speech. Heroic freedom fighter Md Rashidullah, Habibul Islam, Principal of the school Seheli Akhter and Pakshi UP Chairman Saifuzzaman Pintu spoke as the special guests at the programme. After their speech, the chief guest formally inaugurated the programme by releasing pigeons and balloons.
A colorful procession was brought out from the school premises on this occasion. Among the events of this day-long programme, there were reunion of former students, discussion, entertainment events for guests and children, discussion, distributing awards to meritorious students, raffle draw and cultural event. A memoir was also published on this occasion.
