The results of the third and final phase of Class XI admissions were released on Friday, revealing that approximately 12,000 students did not secure college placements. Among these students are 700 who achieved a GPA-5 in their SSC exams.
Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar, President of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and Chairman of Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, confirmed the situation. He stated that the admission process was designed to occur in three phases. Despite this, a significant number of students were left without college placements due to not being allocated their preferred institutions.
Professor Sarkar noted that there are about 25 lakh college seats available for over 16 lakh SSC graduates. However, the preference for specific colleges has led to this admission shortfall. A decision on how to address the issue will be made after further discussions, as it is crucial to ensure no student is denied admission.
The admission process is set to begin on July 15 and will continue until July 25, with Class XI sessions starting on July 30 across the country. Selected students must pay the confirmation fee through the central website portal and download their final selection PDF, which is necessary for physical admission to colleges.
Fees vary based on location and institution type, ranging from 1,500 to 8,500 taka. No Transfer Certificate will be issued after admission without prior permission from the Board of Education.
