Six judges of the Bangladesh Supreme Court along with their families paid homage to Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at his grave at Tungipara in Gopalganj on Sunday on the occasion of the Amar Ekushey and the International Mother Language Day.
They also offered Fateha and took part in prayer ceremony there. Four of the judges paid tributes in the morning, while two others at noon.
The judges include Mirza Hossain Haider Hossain of the Appellate Division and FRM Nazmul Ahsan, ANM. Bashir Ullah, Md Khairul Alam, JBM Hasan and Mohammad Ullah of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, District Judiciary headed by Sessions Judge Amit Kumar Dey of Gopalganj also paid rich tributes to the language martyrs. Later, after reciting the Holy Fateha and Durood, they offered special prayers for the souls of all the members of the Bangabandhu family who were killed brutally on 15th August.
They toured different parts of Bangabandhu Memorial Library and Samadhisaudha Complex as well.
Judges and figures of different divisions including Gopalganj Chief Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Shahadat Hossain Bhuiyan, Additional District and Sessions Judge Md Osman Gani, Senior Assistant Judge HM Kabir Hossain, Senior Judicial Magistrate Kanchan Kumar Kundu, Tungipara Upazila Nirbahi Officer AKM Hedayetam Islam , Curator Nurul Islam were also present.
