Police have arrested six militants with cocktails from a dormitory in Sirajganj's Ullapara. Six cocktails, huge number of books on fundamentalism and posters were also recovered from their possession.
They were detained from Jhikra Tushi Tarek hostel in the upazila on Thursday, July 30, night.
The arrested persons are Ataur Rahman (54) son of late Hossain Ali of Bakua village in Ullapara upazila, Masum Hasan (25) son of late Rahis Uddin Sarkar of Rashipara village in Dhamaikandi, Monirul Islam (20) son of Latif of Ghatina village, Hasan (28) son of Altab Hossain of Gayahat village, Monirul (40) son of Chharwar Hossain of Bajrapur village and Raihan Ali (30) son of Chobhan Sheikh of Diardhangara area of Sirajganj town.
Ullapara Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Deepak Kumar Das confirmed this at around 12:30 pm on Friday, July 31.
He said that during the preliminary interrogation, the detainees confessed to plotting sabotage on Eid.
