A total of six journalists have got best urban reporting award-2024 on urban planning and shortcomings, corruption and service delivery categories.
Urban Development Journalists Forum, Bangladesh (UDJFB) introduced the award for the reporters covering local government and urban planning and development issues.
In print, the awardees are: Rashad Ahamad of New Age in corruption category, Al Fatah Mamun of Banik Barta in planning and its shortcomings category , Amitosh Pal and Latiful Islam of Samakal jointly get award in service delivery category.
In online category Rajnin Farzana of Sarabangla.net and in television category Nazmul Sayed of Independent Television get the award for 2024.
Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh handed over the awards among the best reporters.
Daily Jugantor Editor Saiful Alam, Bangladesh Institute Planners General Secretary Shaikh Mehedi Ahsan, Professor and Chairman, Department of Environmental Science, Stamford University Dr. Ahmad Kamruzzaman Majumder and Urban Urbanisation and Environment secretary of Institute of Architect of Bangladesh Sujaul Islam.
UDJFB president Motin Abdullah presided over the ceremony while its general secretary Faisal Khan moderated the event.
