The Armed Police Battalion (APBn) on Friday detained six people for their alleged involvement in the murder of five Rohingya refugees.
They were held from west Rohingya camp 8 in Cox's Bazar's Ukhiya upazila.
The detainees are all residents of the camp, said APBn-8 Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Farooq Ahmed.
A single shotgun and one round of ammunition have been seized from their possession, the ASP said.
Meanwhile, Cox's Bazar Additional Superintendent of Police Rafiqul Islam said so far no case has been filed over the murders. “A case will be logged if the families wish to file a complaint after the burials,” he added.
On Friday, five Rohingyas were killed in firing by two groups at a Rohingya camp in Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar early Friday.
