Bangladesh registered six more deaths from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am Sunday for the second day in a row. The total number of deaths has reached to 28,001 with the latest figure.
The country recorded 197 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,577,443, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday.
The current positivity rate stands 1.03 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 14.36 percent.
In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.78 percent in the country, added the release.
Of the six deceased, three were male and three others were females.
A total of 19,132 samples were tested across the country till 8am Sunday.
Some 226 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,542,274 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 97.77 percent.
As of Sunday, 5,266,591people died of Covid-19 across the world and 265,825,384 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
