Seeds and fertilizers will be distributed among 6,960 small and marginal farmers in Ishwardi upazila of Pabna under the agricultural incentive programme for the Rabi season in 2024-25 fiscal year, with the aim of increasing the production of various crops.
The agricultural incentive distribution programme was inaugurated in Ishwardi Upazila Department of Agricultural Extension Office on Sunday. Ishwardi Upazila Nirbahi Officer Subir Kumar Das attended the programme as the chief guest. Upazila Agriculture Officer Mita Sarker presided over the pogramme and delivered the welcome speech.
Upazila Livestock Officer Dr Md Nazmul Hossain, Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Md Abdur Rahman Khan, Agriculture Extension Officer Prohollad Kumar Kundu, general secretary of Ishwardi Press Club SM Fazlur Rahman, other officals of upazila Department of Agricultural Extension and beneficiary farmers were present at that time.
According to Upazila Department of Agricultural Extension seeds and fertilizers will be distributed to 6,960 small and marginal farmers in the municipality and seven unions of the upazila under the agricultural incentive program. This distribution includes seeds for wheat, corn, mustard, lentils, winter onions, masoor, khesari, and peanuts, as well as DAP and MOP fertilizers.
Each group of five beneficiary farmers will receive 20 kg of wheat, 2 kg of corn, 1 kg of mustard, and 1 kg of winter onion seeds. Additionally, a group of ten farmers will receive 5 kg of lentils, 8 kg of kesari, 2 kg of arhar, and 10 kg of peanut seeds. Furthermore, each group of farmers will also be provided with 10 kg of DAP and 10 kg of MOP fertilizers.
