A 5th class student in Kishoreganj was allegedly raped by her cousin named Mahmudul Hasan Safar. The incident took place at the rest house of Kishoreganj Railway Station on Monday night. The victim's brother filed a case under the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Act at the Railway Police Station against Sagar. The accused is a 4th class temporary employee of the engineering department of Railway and son of Abdul Jalil of East Tarapasha area of the district town.
According to the railway police, Sagar took the 5th class student from her home in the station area to the VIP rest house of the railway station after talking about the birthday party on Monday evening. Later, he closed the door and raped her in the toilet of the rest house. GRP police and station's men broke down the door and rescued the child. At this time Sagar escaped through the window.
Assistant Station Master of Kishoreganj Railway Station Joynal Mia said, "I came to know about the incident after hearing the noise of the people." CCTV footage showed the child being taken to a rest house. The matter has been reported to the higher authorities.
GRP Police Station OC Md. Emdadul Haque said a case has been filed in the incident. The operation to arrest the accused Sagar is in full swing.
