The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in different operations in 24 hours till 6:00 am on Friday (September 15) arrested 55 persons for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs.
Being informed, the DMP’s police and detective units conducted the anti-drug campaign in the city’s various areas, seizing drugs and arresting drug sellers and abusers, said a DMP statement.
They seized 3,800 pieces of Yaba tablets, 4.1605kg 159 puria hemp, 20gm 300 puria heroin, and 97 bottles of local wine from their possessions, according to the statement.
According to the statement, 42 cases were filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
Earlier, police of Dhaka Metropolitan Police in different operations in 24 hours till 6:00 am on Thursday (September 14) arrested 60 people for their alleged involvement in selling and consuming drugs.
