With the slogan 'Samobaye Gorchi desh-Smart hobe Bangladesh' (Building the country through Cooperative-Bangladesh would turn smart', the 52nd National Cooperatives Day was observed at Ishwardi in a befitting manner on Saturday morning.
Ishwardi Upazila Administration and the Samabaya Department jointly organised the programmes of the day with a colourful rally and discussion. The programme starts with the hoisting of the national flag and the singing of the national anthem at 10 a.m. Later a colourful rally paraded the streets of the upazila and converged at the upazila premises. Afterwards, a discussion meeting was held at the conference room of the upazila where Ishwardi Upazila Chairman Nayeb Ali Biswas addressed as the chief guest.
Presided over by Ishwardi Upazila Nirbahi Officer Subir Kumar Biswas, Samabaya Officer Akanda Rabbeullah Manik delivered the welcome speech at the meeting. Among others, the meeting was addressed by Upazila AC (land) TM Rahsin Kabir, Vice-Chairman Abdus Salam Khan, Atia Ferdous Kakoli, Ishwardi Press Club President Mostaque Ahmed Kiron, Upazila Academic Supervisor Ariful Islam and National Prize winner Poultry farmerAmirul Islam. Afterwards, 10 Cooperative Organisers were awarded with crests and certificates for their special contribution to cooperatives.
