The 51st National Cooperatives Day was observed in the district as elsewhere in the country on Saturday with the theme ‘Philosophy of Bangabandhu, Development in Cooperatives’.
Marking the day, the district administration and the Department of Cooperative chalked out elaborate programmes in the district.
On the occasion, a colorful rally was brought out from the Deputy Commissioner's Office premises which paraded the important streets in the town and ended coming at the same place this morning.
Later, a discussion was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner office this morning.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Habibur Rahman addressed the function as the chief guest with District Cooperative officer Md. Aslam Ali in the chair.
Nezarat Deputy Collector (NDC) Md. Ashif Uddin Miah, District Cooperatives officer Md. Aslam Ali, Sadar upazila vice chairman Esmot Ara and cooperatives personalities, among others, spoke on the occasion.
